One of my all time favorite golf reads of one of golfing most mysterious champions. I was so moved to read this after hearing of Steve Jones’ reading of it on his way to victory at Oakland Hills. One realizes from the outset that Hogan came from a background which caused him to work hard and likely be aloof from public attention. Driven might be the word to describe him.
